The Indian stock market marked a new feat in Wednesday’s session as the market capitalisation of the BSE-listed companies crossed the $4 trillion mark. At close, Sensex stood at 66,902, up 728 points, while Nifty added 207 points to settle at 20,097. Broader markets, which were the star performers until a few sessions, however, underperformed.
Here are the top newsmakers that buzzed the most in Wednesday’s session:
Tata Motors: Tata Motors shares marked an all-time high ahead of the listing of Tata Technologies, which is expected to see a blockbuster market debut. Shares of the auto major closed at Rs 712.15, up over 2 per cent.

OMC stocks: All three major oil refiners marked their new 52-week highs in trade today ahead of the OPEC meeting scheduled for tomorrow.
Aster DM Healthcare: Shares of the pharma company ended over 19 per cent higher at Rs 396.15 amid heavy volumes in the counter.
Siemens: Shares of the electrical equipment major ended with a tad cut and settled at Rs 3,630 despite a stellar Q2 show.
Lemon Tree Hotels: Shares of the hotel company ended a tad lower at Rs 113.9 after the company’s president, Vikamjit Singh, tendered his resignation from the position.
Hinduja Group stocks: Shares of the group companies were in focus after the company’s offices were surveyed by the income tax department. Hinduja Global Solutions ended around 1 per cent higher at Rs 955.3 apiece.
Capacite Infra: Shares of the infra company settled with a cut of over 1 per cent at Rs 255.8, even as the company bagged an order worth Rs 101 crore from Tridhaatu Aranya Developers.
Yatharth Hospitals: Shares of the Noida-based hospital entity ended around 11 per cent lower at Rs 386 apiece. The hospital has been in receipt of an order from the MP government to take over the premises of Ramraja Hospital.
IREDA: After a bumper debut with gains of 56 per cent, shares of the Miniratna firm ended 87.5 per cent higher at Rs 60. The stock’s IPO issue price was fixed at Rs 32.
Zomato: Shares of the food delivery start-up ended over 2 per cent higher at Rs 116.6 after a block deal in the counter in early trade.
